The English Program celebrated Sarakhampittayakhom school’s 100th Anniversary on July 10, 2013. The school started as a school for boys in the year 1913. The celebration marked the beginning of a series of activities for the school, as well as a fundraising event for the school for a much bigger activity and celebration on December. All the students, teachers and staff bought and wore a special pink 100th anniversary shirt, wherein the proceeds of the sale of each shirt would be for the purchase of a big new luxury coach for the school.
Early in the morning, there was a merit-making activity, many students and teachers said the prayers and well-wishes for the school along with revered Buddhist monks. Many tokens for merit were given the monks at the end of the ceremony.
Later in the day, money trees were made from the collection of each class and were given to the school as part of the fundraising activity of the school. The English Program of Sarakhampittayakhom school was able to raise B27,568.50 Baht in one day for the fundraising activity.
