The English Program held its annual Open House Party for this school year on March 12, 2014 at the Sarakhampittayakhom School open grounds. This year’s theme and featured musical was Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, “Romeo and Juliet.” The event started at 6pm with musical performances by EP students particularly from the Mathayom 3 band, “Slurpy.” The whole event was also streamed live online using Youtube’s Live Events and was watched by many viewers on Facebook. During the show, an awarding of certificates to the Outstanding EP students of school year 2013 was held then a inaugural speech was given by the deputy vice governor of Maha Sarakham province.
The featured tragedy drama play “Romeo and Juliet” is about two lovers who are each from opposing feudal families, and were greatly affected by their families actions. The sad story ends when both Romeo and Juliet take their own lives. Although it is a sad story, the play that was performed by the EP students was mixed with musical and dance performances to lighten up the story.
After the play, there was a special tribute to the graduating Mathayom 6 students of the English Program, with a special message from EP students from lower levels and an inspirational message to them from Mr. Wigorn Makdee. The show ended with more musical performances from the band Slurpy and other EP students who joined in, dancing and singing till the end of the party. The EP students were happy and enjoyed the event a lot for they were able to show their talents and dress up like celebrities for a party that they look forward to every end of the school year.
