Congratulations to Ms. Nutcha Taweechot (Earn), a Grade 10 student (Mathayom 4\/1) in the English Program at Sarakhampittayakhom School, for her outstanding achievement in the regional “Function Art Competition.” Out of 98 talented young creators across Southeast Asia, Nutcha\u2019s innovative artwork, titled “Pokemon,” was selected to receive a Special Prize for its exceptional blend of mathematical precision and artistic creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Intersection of Math and Art
The Function Art Competition, organized by SEAMEO STEM-ED, challenged students to look beyond the numbers and see the beauty in mathematics. Participants were tasked with creating complex visual designs using mathematical functions on a graphing platform.<\/p>\n\n\n

Earn\u2019s winning piece, “Pokemon” (ID0005), stands as a testament to her mastery of mathematical thinking. Her design transformed abstract equations into a vivid, recognizable character, demonstrating a deep understanding of how variables and functions can be used as “brushes” to paint a digital canvas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Regional Triumph
The competition was highly competitive, featuring 98 entries from 11 SEAMEO member countries, as well as China, Japan, and South Korea. The judging committee evaluated submissions based on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Originality and Creativity: How unique and imaginative the visual concept was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mathematical Depth: The complexity and effective use of various functions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Innovation: The ability to bring a concept to life through the lens of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nutcha\u2019s work was highlighted for its impressive use of functions\u2014with some top entries in the competition using up to 900 individual equations\u2014to achieve such detailed results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a student of the English Program at Sarakhampittayakhom School, Nutcha\u2019s success reflects the program\u2019s commitment to academic excellence and 21st-century skills.
